| Hello,
often there is the view that nofollow links are worthless.
A nofollow link will simply not pass any PR value to the destination urls.
But this doesnt mean that these wont have any ranking factor, does it?
Google will still see it as a link and will count it into the ranking calculation, thats what I think is logical to assume.
What are your views or experiences?

| No-follow sites advice search engines not to follow links with no-follow attribute. It does not pass any link juice even. But some search engines may index no-follow links as well. But no-follow links can bring traffic. So still it is worth getting. | |

Both do-follow and no-follow are useful to bring referral traffic. But for SEO purpose no-follow links will not help.

| No-follow link is to advice search engines not to count it as a backlink. So it does not have SEO value. But still they are good for traffic. | |

| HI,
I personally feel that we have to try to get do follow links in stead of no follow. Because no follow sites gives us traffic but it will net help to get top position. Where do follow gives you both. You will drag traffic and also get top position in search engine.

| No back link can possibly be useless as someone can always click there and possibly become a potential client. So, we can say they are less useful than dofollow links. | |

| I agree. Link-building is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Don't waste your efforts on no-follow links. | |

| No follow in Meta robots lets you tell SE's not to follow the specified page. No follow in link relation does not share link juice. So its not more useful for ranking on search engine result pages. | |

| shunning and overlooking nofollow links in favor of dofollow. Well I remind you that the nofollow link is still very much your friend for these 3 reasons.
1.Traffic: Nofollow links can be great sources of traffic, oftentimes more so than dofollow links are though most people don't think like that.
2.Natural: Webmasters who exclusively target dofollow links appear to Google to be unnatural. Therefore, it's necessary to have a good number of nofollow links to your site to appear more natural to search engines.
3.Valuable: SEOers and webmasters have always exercised a clear preference for dofollow links because of the link juice aspect of them. Given that that's what Google is preaching as well and the fact that they hate people manipulating their search results, (and this is speculative) Google could have begun placing a greater emphasis on nofollow links as it's more natural given that no one is trying to exploit nofollow links in the way which they are exploiting dofollow.
